a horse, a wagon, and a dream has evolved into

my great-great-grandfather laid the first stone
of this journey with colorado cooperage works,
the first company to craft barrels for coors brewery
in golden, colorado. the next chapter begins in 1948,
when my grandparents, sam and elenore rudd,
took a monumental leap. with their modest life savings,
they secured the third alcohol wholesale license—
just as prohibition ended—and embarked on a new chapter,
one that would span generations.
